Standing Desks (7th & 8th Study Skills)

 

Throughout the course of the day many special education students prefer to stand or kneel at their desks while learning. Research shows that students benefit from standing while working. It increases concentration and also burns a greater number of calories during the day. This grant purchases two models of standing desks. The desks are placed on another desk or table.

Students get an opportunity to test these standing desks and give input on which they like better and when they might be useful. This feedback is used to order a classroom set to be shared with both the 7 th and 8 th grade study skills classes.
