First LEGO League Jr. Team (2nd -3rd)

 

This grant introduces STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) concepts to kids ages 6 to 9 as they utilize a product they adore LEGO! Guided by one coach and a parent volunteer, two teams of six members in grades 2-3 explore a real-world problem. This year the theme is “Creature Craze”. Students select an animal that lives in the same habitat as a honeybee.

Participants build a motorized LEGO model that shows their animal. Students show what they learned through a “Show Me” poster. At the close of the season, teams come together to share ideas, celebrate and have fun.
