Innovative Seating (4th & Basic Skills)

This grant funds the purchase of ergoErgo seats to provide an alternative to the present day seats in a typical classroom. These seats compress slightly to allow continuous movement forward, back and side-to- side, strengthening muscles and attention spans. These “micro-movements” improve blood and oxygen flow to the brain and may increase concentration. The seats come in two sizes, elementary and secondary, and a combination of seating is to be purchased to accommodate the varying sizes of our students. These chairs are portable and can easily be moved and rearranged by the students. These new seats are used at student desks and during small group lessons.
