First LEGO League Team
(2 teams of 10 students each from grades 6-8)
The success of last year’s First LEGO League Team has lead to an increase in student participation. As a result, this grant requests an additional stipend position and additional equipment to allow up to twenty students to compete in the regional competition. Each team of 10 students designs, assembles and programs a LEGO robot according to this year’s theme, Animal Allies. This theme proposes that people and animals are allies in a quest to make life better for everyone. The project mission is to make our interactions with animals better. Students pick a situation when people and animals interact, and identify a specific problem they want to solve. Participants design a solution to their identified problem. At the close of this season, teams come together to share ideas, celebrate and have fun.
