Dance Dance Revolution (1st - 3rd)

Movement is an important component to any good physical education program. Motivating students to exercise in different ways is the goal of any physical education teacher. Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) is a video game that uses a dance pad. Players stand on a "dance platform" and hit color arrows with their feet to musical and visual cues. Players are judged by how well they time their dance to the patterns presented to them. The more accurate the player follows the steps the better their score. DDR is also available during recess. The promise of a DDR dance party might be a great motivator for the classroom setting too.
